PURPOSE:To eliminate the deterioration in image quality and to obtain a sharp image having high reproduction fidelity by disposing an image carrying body and a developer conveying and carring body so at to face each other without contact and impressing an alternating voltage to a developing area. CONSTITUTION:The bias voltage having the oscillating AC component of a bias power source 10 is impressed between a sleeve 2 and the base body 1a of the grounded image carrying body 1 in the stage of setting the sleeve 2 in such a manner as to have surface spacing from the body 1 and developing the electrostic latent image on the body 1. The magnetic brush formed on the surface of the sleeve 2 changes the magetic flix density of the surface according to the rotation of the sleeve 2 or a magnet body 3. The brush moves consequently on the sleeve 2 and passes stably and smoothly the spacing from the body 1 thus giving the uniform developing effect to the surface of the body 1. The stable development with the high toner density is made possible. |
