<p>PURPOSE:To enhance the intake inertia effect in the intake passages of a three-cylinder engine by separating the intake passages of the first and the second cylinder at an equal angle from each other with respect to an axis line which is at right angles to the axis of a crankshaft and making the meeting passage and the intake passage of the third cylinder symmetrical to each other with respect to the axis of carbureter, making said meeting passage thicker than the passage of the third cylinder, and making the intake passage having the approximately equal length. CONSTITUTION:When intake passages G1 and G2 of adjacent cylinders C1 and C2 of an engine which has three cylinders 1-3C meets, the angles theta1 and theta2 with respect to a line 2a which is at right angles to a crank shaft line which is a straight line connecting the centers O1-O3 of the cylinders are made equal to each other. At the passage CG at the meeting point and the another meeting point of the third cylinder C3 and the intake passage G3, the angles alpha and beta made between the axis of each of the intake passages and the axial line of a carbureter are made equal to each other. The intake passages from the meeting point of to the resepctive cylinders have approximately equal lengths and the sectional area A0 of the meeting passage CG are made larger than the sectional are A1 of the intake passage G3 of the third cylinder.</p> |
