<p>The on-load voltmeter comprises a voltmeter, a set of power resistors (9), two connection probes, and an injection moulded aluminium case. One connecting probe (12) is mounted in the case. The other includes a length of heavy flexible cable with a plug at one end engaging sockets in the case connected to tappings on the load resistor. The probe at the end of the cable incorporates spring contacts which are normally open and are closed by hand pressure after the probe is located on the battery lug. - The battery voltage is observed under load for a specified period as a test of condition and state of charge.</p> |
