<p>N-(Methoxyphenacyl) amines of formula (I) and their salts are new. R = 3-8C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl. Prepn. comprises reacting methoxy phenacyl bromide (II) and alkylamine (III). The reaction is effected in an inert solvent, esp. ethanol, methanol, chloroform, dioxan or THF, at a temperature between ambient and reflux for a period of 1/4 to 2 hours. 3 moles of amine (III) are used per mole of halide (II).</p> |
