A memory is used for storing acknowledgment data representing a particular receiver. A clock measures the receiving time during which the number of received sheets is counted. A character generator is arranged to read the contents of the memory, the sheet counter and clock at the end of receiving the picture information so as to produce a character pattern signal corresponding to such content. - The pattern signal performs analysis of each character into a number pf picture elements and displays black or white for each element in digital form. A transmitter encodes and modulates the pattern signal and transfers it to a transmission line.
