Apparatus for measuring the maximum level of a liquid by a self-immobilising float. The invention relates to a device which is self-immobilising in a measurement apparatus for delayed reading of the maximum level. The apparatus is constituted by a semirigid transparent tube 1 in which a float 2 moves, which float is fitted, at its lower part, with an elastic plate 4 constituting the characteristic property of the self-immobilising float. The float according to the invention is in particular intended for monitoring any rise of water or liquid in structures where the presence of people puts them at real danger. <IMAGE>
