PURPOSE:To perform stable machining with discharge easily caused, by applying high-voltage pulses between a metal-bonded material and a wire electrode while a machining liquid mixed with an electroconductive powder is being supplied to the machining gap between the material and the electrode. CONSTITUTION:To machine a metal-bonded material 2 of high electric resistance, a machining liquid to be supplied to a machining gap by a pump 18 is mixed at a prescribed ratio with an electroconductive powder stored in a hopper 23, to heighten the electric conductivity of the machining liquid to easily cause discharge between a wire electrode 3 and the bonded portion of the material 2 through the electroconductive powder. The machining is thus smoothly advanced. If pulses of a no-load voltage, which is not lower than 300V higher than a conventional method and is not higher than 1,000V and which is preferably about 400V to about 600V, are applied between the wire electrode 3 and the metal-bonded material 2 through a voltage pulse condition changer 9A, the machining can be more smoothly advanced. |
