PURPOSE:To equalize a contact pressure between a control member and a carrying body, and to form a stable developer layer by setting the compressive stress/ minute displacement of a soft elastic body formed on the control member, to a specified value or below. CONSTITUTION:A control member 5 has a spring plate material 7, and a rubber member 8 being a soft elastic body, which is made to adhere to the spring plate material 7, and whose compressive stress/minute displacement is set to <=about 3kg/mm.<3>, and this rubber member 8 contacts to a carrying body 4. Accordingly, for instance, in case a big toner particle 1 enters into a contact area of the rubber member 8 and the carrying body 4, the rubber member 8 is deformed by only a part of the big toner particle 1, and the rubber member 8 can make the big toner particle pass through the contact area in a wrapped state. In this way, it is prevented that a stress applied to the toner particle 1 becomes larger than required, and also the possibility that an air-gap between said control member 5 and carrying body 4 becomes large unnecessarily in the contact area, and other fine toner particle 1 goes in more than required can be eliminated. |
