The invention relates to a device allowing measurement of radiation doses emitted by a radioactive source. It is constituted by an insulating tube 1 ending at its base in a metal tip 2 supported by an insulator 3. This tube is filled with a high-quality tissue equivalent insulating dielectric 13 and forms an ionisation chamber. The measurement device is a conducting ball which, at rest, occupies the lower zone of the tube 1. When electrical charges are applied to this ball, it occupies the upper part of the tube 1 and falls back down progressively under the effect of the radiation. Various sensitivities are possible by choosing the weight of the ball. This dosimeter can be sensitive to X-rays, gamma rays and thermal neutrons. <IMAGE>
