PURPOSE:The titled factor is prepared by culturing a human malignant monocytic cell in the presence of a differentiation-inducing substance, or by differentiating a human malignant monocytic cell with a differentiation-inducing substance, and culturing the cell in the presence of an extracorporeal stimulation substance. CONSTITUTION:A human tumor necrosis factor can be prepared either by culturing a malignant human monocytic cell (e.g. human proosseous leukemia cell, human chronic myelocytic leukemia cell, etc.) in the presence of a differentiation-inducing substance (e.g. hemin, actinomycin D, hexamethyleneaclacinomycin A, teleocidin, etc.) or by differentiating a malignant human monocytic cell with a differentiation-inducing substance, and culturing the cell in the presence of an extracorporeal stimulation substance (e.g. lipopolysaccharoid, various lectins, vitamin A, etc.).
