The invention relates to a closure for closing sterilizable containers which consist of a body with a bottom and side walls and a lid, likewise with a bottom, provided with a connecting piece, and side walls, the lid being fitted onto the body so as to surround it, characterized by - an axle (8) which is arranged on the outside of the body or of the lid and on which a circular cam disc (9) is linked rotatably, which cam disc has on its inside a spiral edge (11) starting from a recess (12), and - a pin (6) which is mounted on the outside of a corresponding side wall of the lid or of the body, and characterized in that - the cam disc (9) and the pin (6) are arranged in such a way that, when the lid is fitted onto the body, the pin (6) engages in the recess (12) of the cam disc (9) and, by turning the cam disc, the pin resting against the edge of the cam disc causes the lid to be pulled onto the body and thus effects the closure of the container. <IMAGE>
