PURPOSE:To control automatically the throughput and the take-off speed so as to form a rodlike body uniform in diameter, by striking light on a melted resin bank near a sizing die inlet and detecting the diameter of the bank. CONSTITUTION:A melted resin is continuously extruded from an extruder 1, is introduced into a sizing die 3, is cooled and solidified in a cooling tank 4 and is taken up by a take-up 5. Light from a light source 7 is struck on the melted resin bank 6 that will be introduced into the sizing die 3 and the bank diameter is determined by an image sensor 9. The image sensor signal corresponding to the detected bank diameter is amplified by an amplifying circuit in an image controller, and is converted to a pulse signal in a waveform shaping circuit, which is in turn converted to an analogue signal by a D/A converter, and then it is sent to a time proportional on-off regulator, and is compared with a predetermined value that has been previously inputted by a comparator in said regulator. If the detected value < the predetermined value, the take-off speed is dropped, while if the detected value > the predetermined value, the take-off speed is increased, and when the detected value becomes equal to the predetermined value, the decrease or increase of the speed is suspended. |
