摘要 <p>Optical information storage disks are usually read by means of a laser beam in reflection. For this purpose, the microstructure containing the information, impressed in at least one side of the information carrier disk, has to be provided with a reflective layer which has adequate reflectivity for the laser beam at the same time as good adhesion and corrosion resistance. Furthermore, the reflective layer must be additionally covered by a protective layer for protecting the information microstructure and the reflective layer. In order to reduce considerably the costs for the production equipment, it is proposed to simplify the production process on the one hand for the reflective layer and on the other hand for the protective layer by using the same production technology, i.e. applying the two layers to the disks (P) one after the other in a sputtering installation (SP) and using here as the material for the protective layer either a corrosion-resistant metal or a suitable dielectric (Al2O3, SiO2). <IMAGE></p>
