摘要 |
A residue-free disposal of highly toxic waste of any desired consistency and in complete isolation from the environment is represented by the introduction into and incineration in a plant which is constructed in the manner of a rocket combustion chamber. This process makes possible temperatures of above 3000 DEG C over a large volume, in which all known chemical toxic wastes decompose. In the combustion chamber, a hot gas is first produced by a chemical reaction of an appropriate fuel combination. The toxic material is decomposed by the heat transfer between hot gas and problem waste and the decomposition products are oxidised in such a manner that mainly steam and, in a smaller amount depending on the fuel combination, COX gas remain. The problem toxin can be introduced into the combustion chamber with the carrier substance (for example soil), following suitable treatment, in the liquid, solid or gaseous state.
