PURPOSE:To facilitate light measuring of a specific area and area setting by performing partial light measuring based on the signal from a part of an image pickup element. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 111 is depressed, a CPU 107 sets an diaphragm 101 to the open state through a driver 102. An AE circuit 106 performs partial light measuring based on the signal from a part of an image pickup element 103. When a switch 112 is depressed next, the CPU 107 calculates optimum diaphragm value and shutter speed in accordance with the measured value of partial light measuring and executes photographing based on them. The output of the image pickup element 103 is supplied to a recording head 113 through a process circuit 104 and a recording circuit 105 and is recorded on a video floppy 115. |
