PURPOSE:To attain an efficient access by changing a track shifting amount in accordance with the number of musical programs recorded on a disk. CONSTITUTION:The titled device has disk position address information for using a reproduction start position on a disk as a start and a storage means for storing a conversion table of the number of corresponding tracks. First, immediately after a disk is loaded on a player, the total number of musical programs recorded on a disk and entire playing time information are read out, and an average playing time per program is calculated. When program searching access instructions are given, an initial value of the number of tracks to be track- shifted is calculated from the playing address information immediately before the instructions are given and the calculated average playing time information, and track shifting is executed in accordance with the result. |
