The apparatus for sharpening cutting tools, the cutting edges of which have varied shapes and angles of orientation, it being possible for the apparatus to be mounted on a self-contained framework or a multi-station framework and to be facing a grinding motor unit, given a pendular or reciprocating movement, is noteworthy in that the tool to be sharpened can be moved in space with respect to the fixed point of attachment of the apparatus to the framework by causing its angular position to vary about various concurrent axes, the point of intersection corresponding to the reference zone in the active plane of the grinder in which the edge to be sharpened is always located. <IMAGE>
