Needle-selection members are arranged on the front and rear side of a cam in both directions of movement of the carriage. The needles are subdivided into two groups. For the electrical selection of the three needle positions, that is to say the knitting, tuck and rest positions, by means of an electromagnet, the needle-selection members are provided on both sides of the cam arranged on a carriage. A primary selection of the needles takes place in that the needles are first subdivided into two groups, whereupon, during the reversal of movement of the carriage, the needles of one group are subdivided into two further groups. <IMAGE> |
