PURPOSE:To arrange so that no missing of printed characters may occur without fail by suporting a platen with a support resisting paper friction and maintaining a fixed gap between the platen and a printing head. CONSTITUTION:If a latching solenoid 10 is excited at a start printing signal, a plunger 10a is released from a permanent magnet and an actuator 19 is pulled upward by spring 23. In the meantime, a platen 15 is pushed upward by spring 9 and then is positioned by stopper 22 thus deciding a gap G between the platen 15 and a printing head 1. On the other hand, a release lever 28, interlocked to the actuator 19, parks from a support 26 centering around a supporting shaft 27, and the support 26 rotates counter-clockwise. Then this support contacts a stopper 30, braces the opposite part of the platen 15 and prevents paper 12 from separating from a printing head 1 by friction. Accordingly, if printing action is resumed right after the feeding of the paper 12, no missing of printed characters occurs, because the gap G is maintained correctly. |
