PURPOSE:Thermostable beta-galactosidase, having the following physicochemical properties; Ptimum pH; 4.5. Stable pH range; 4.0-5.0. Optimum activity temperature; About 60 deg.C. Stable temperature range; <=60 deg.C at 6.0pH. Inactivation conditions by pH; Keeping at 37 deg.C within <=2.5pH or >=9.5pH range for 1hr. Inhibited by silver nitrate and p-chloromercuribenzoic acid and activated by CH3OH, C2H5OH, i-C3H7OH and n-C3H7OH. Molecular weight; 140000-150000. Isoelectric point pH; 4.7-4.3. Elementary analysis; C, 46.4%; H, 6.43%; N, 12.01%; S, 0.36%, etc. USE:A medicine for teating diarrhea due to decomposition of lactose or lactose intolerance or a reagent. PREPARATION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Asperigilus, and capable of producing beta-galactosidase is cultivated in a culture medium having a weak alkaline protease activity. |
