PURPOSE:To change easily the wavelength of light by forming a light guide in a single crystal substrate of lithium niobate by an ion exchange method, introducing light having a fundamental wave into the light guide from one end, and taking out harmonics radiating in the substrate. CONSTITUTION:A light guide 4 is formed in a single crystal substrate 3 of lithium niobate by an ion exchange method. Light P1 having a fundamental wave is introduced into the light guide 4 from one end, and harmonics P2 radiating in the substrate 3 are taken out. When Fabry-Perot resonance is caused by sticking reflecting films 8, 8' to both ends of the light guide 4, the output of the harmonics P2 is increased. Thus, the wavelength of light is changed easily and efficiently. |
