PURPOSE:To prevent a cylinder from being deformed upon encasing of a compression mechanism in a closed vessel, by providing a plate section to a leg section secured to the closed vessel, having a thickness which is larger than the axial thickness of the leg section, and by securing a cylinder block to this plate section. CONSTITUTION:A compression mechanism 4 is encased in a closed vessel 2. The compression mechanism 4 is formed such that a cylinder plate 7, a side plate 9, etc. are attached to a plate section 5a having a thickness larger than the axial thickness of an attaching leg section 5b which is secured to the vessel 2 and which is integrally incorporated with the plate section 5a. Between the cylinder plate and the attaching leg section, there is defined a space 5 having a distance l2 which is greater than the axial thickness l1 of the attaching leg section by at least 30% of the latter, and therefore, stress which is brought about when the attaching leg section is secured to the closed vessel can be hardly transmitted to the plate section so that it is possible to prevent the cylinder from being deformed. |
