The unit is made up of a base (1) containing housings for the circular guide rods (7). The base (1) contains a graduated measuring rule (5) recessed into it. A frame (9) is equipped with a cutting wire (10) anchored between two bushes (14) which are fitted to the ends of hollow tubes (11) which form part of the frame (9) in conjunction with its cross member (12). The tubes (11) slide over the guide rods (7) and there is a recess (4) in the surface of the base (1) to allow the wire to cut below the top surface of the base. The unit can be dismantled and the sliding part can be held on the base by two pegs (6) when not in service. Use/Advantage - A wire slicer for the cutting of soft pate which can be set up quickly and can be used in the home.
