PURPOSE:The titled support, which is suitable for use as a precursor of a filler for high-speed affinity chromatography, is adjusted to certain levels in alcoholic hydroxyl content, water retention and specific surface area to facilitate the separation and purification of substances from living bodies. CONSTITUTION:A wholly porous support coated with molecular spacer which has 1-14mmol/g of alcoholic hydroxyls originating from vinyl alcohol units, a water retention of 0.5-4g/g and a specific surface area of 5-1,000m<2>/g and a crosslinked structure of copolymer with spacer molecules covalently bonding to the base polymer. The spacer molecules have 2 or more hydrophilic groups, linear structure, but no strongly ionic groups. The copolymer is crosslinked using a crosslinking monomer with a triazine ring. |
