PURPOSE:To prevent a strip from generation of slit distortion, by forming either one of an upper blade or a bottom blade into a rotary blade while the other one into a linear fixed blade and cutting the strip running on a surface of the fixed blade so as to prevent a width warp from being generated on the strip while it is slitted. CONSTITUTION:A slitter equips an upper rotary blade 7 and a bottom linear fixed blade 9'. The blade 9' horizontally forms its upper surface in the distance from a point P to a cutting finish point Q. A strip 2A, being fed onto the blade 9', generates no residual stress at all by horizontally placing a slit line C-C of the strip 2A. Further the strip 2A is prevented from generation of slit distortion by providing a retaining roll 10 in a biting position a-a in order to prevent a width warp by bending moment of the strip when it is shorn. |
