PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a pH measuring instrument by constituting a pH measuring instrument of a working electrode which is provided with a platinum conductor on the top end face and a hydrogen ion permselective membrane on the platinum top end face and a reference electrode provided with the conductor, high polymer-silver complex layer and ion conductive film formed successively thereon. CONSTITUTION:A lead wire 11b is welded to the conductor 11a consisting of a stainless steel and an insulating layer 12 consisting of ''Teflon'', etc. is formed on the outside periphery thereof. A platinum layer 13 is formed by vapor deposition, etc. to the exposed top end face of the conductor 11a and the hydrogen ion permselective membrane 14 consisting of at least one kind of the electrolytically oxidized arom. film selected from a hydroxy arom. compd. and nitrogen-contg. aromatic compd. is formed on the surface thereof. An impurity ion permeation preventive film 15 is deposited on the film 15 and a layer 16 of a water soluble heparin deriv. to prevent the clotting of blood is deposited thereon in the case of using the electrode for measuring the blood. The working electrode is thus constituted. The high polymer-silver complex layer 18 and the ion conductive film 19 are further formed on the outside peripheral surface of the conductor 17 wound on the layer 12 to constitute the reference electrode. The pH measuring instrument 10 is thus completed. |
