PURPOSE:To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition for a liquid crystal element presenting good adhesiveness without causing the debonding or blister of a polarizing plate, etc., and capable of releasing and applying again the polarizing plate, etc., without damaging the liquid crystal element. CONSTITUTION:This adhesive (composition) comprises (a) 100 pts.wt. of a copolymer from 50-99.9wt.% of a (meth)acrylic 4-12C alkyl-ester, 0.1-10wt.% of an ethylenic unsaturated monomer having polar group in the molecule and 0-49.9wt.% of a monomer copolymerizable therewith and (b) 0.5-20 pts.wt. of a higher fatty acid and/or derivative therefrom with the phase transition temperature from solid to liquid phase within 30-60 deg.C. The other objective liquid crystal element is obtained by applying a polarizing plate, etc.,on a substrate through this adhesive composition. |
