PURPOSE:To prevent an optical system which uses a light source for laser light, etc., from being stained with dust, etc., and use it in an invariably good-performance state by providing a means which records and reproduces signals on and from recording media by using the optical system, a moving means which moves the optical system to a specific position, and an optical system cleaning means which is provided within the movement range of the moving means. CONSTITUTION:When a signal is inputted to a power-on signal input terminal 18, a linear motor drive control circuit 16 sends a command to a linear motor 14 so that the optical system 15 passes under a duct cleaner 17. The duct cleaner 17 is provided within the movement range of the optical system 15 and outside an optical disk 8 and dusts off the optical system 15 when the optical system 15 passes thereunder. The dust cleaner 17 is provided with a soft brush 19 so that no unnecessary force is applied to the optical system when the optical system passes. Consequently, when the optical system passes through this dust cleaner, dust sticking on the optical system is brushed off through the linear motor. |
