PURPOSE:To obtain a composite material product reduced in the content of air voids and having a smooth surface, by laminating a layer comprising a tube inflated by the introduction of air under pressure to the outer peripheral surface of a core. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel 1 is constituted by placing a tube 3 to the surface of the cloth 2 arranged to the outer peripheral surface of a core and covering said tube 3 with a sheet 4. A resin impregnated filter is wound around the mandrel 1 and an uncured composite material layer 6 is formed on the sheet 4. Subsequently, air venting cloth 7 is allowed to cover the surface of the composite material layer 6 and, after the whole surface of this air venting cloth 7 is covered with an outside mold 8, compressed air is introduced from an air port 5 under desired pressure to be introduced into the tube 3 under pressure through a manifold 11. Because the tube 3 is inflated to press the composite material layer 6 upwardly by the introduction of compressed air, air in the composite material layer 6 is sufficiently vented to the outside through the air venting cloth 7 and a composite material product having a smooth surface is obtained. |
