PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of the linearity in recording caused by the addition of external force to paper during recording, by retracting one of paper discharge rollers by a retraction means during a time when the paper while recording passes through a recording part. CONSTITUTION:The paper 9 fed out from a paper cassette 8 is guided between a thermal head 2 and a back-up roller 3 by a guide 11 and image information is recorded on the paper 9 by the thermal head 2 while the recorded paper 9 is guided by a guide 12 to reach a paper discharge roller 13. The discharge roller 13 consists of a pair of rollers mutually contacted under pressure and, one of them, for example, the upper side on is made freely retractable upwardly by a retraction means. For example, the retraction means is a solenoid and retracts one of the paper discharge roller 13 upwardly during a time when information is recorded on the paper 9 by the thermal head 2 and, by this mechanism, the recording of information can be performed without applying external force to the paper 9 during recording. |
