PURPOSE:To enable underlining printing to be inexpensively performed, by a method wherein half-pitch paper feeding and additional printing of an underline by a normal printing operation are performed for each printing of a one-line amount of characters. CONSTITUTION:When a character key A in alphanumeric keys alphaN is depressed, a character A is printed at a printer PRT. Next, when a character key B depressed after setting an underline presence/absence selecting switch ULS to presence of underline XX, a character B is printed. Further, with character keys C, D, E sequentially depressed, a character string ABCDE is printed at the printer PRT. Then, with a carriage return key CR depressed, a printing paper is fed by a half pitch after returning a carriage, and in this condition the carriage is moved to the position of the character B, underlines are sequentially printed additionally, thereafter the carriage is again returned, and the paper is again fed by a half pitch. |
