PURPOSE:To simplify the structure, and at the same time to reduce the time for ribbon replacement and to permit prevention of color mixing by arranging plural color coded disc type ink ribbons to be able to revolve in front of a print hammer. CONSTITUTION:An ink ribbon 34 is connected with the rotation shaft of a stepping motor 35 which drives the ribbon and revolves in the direction indicated by an arrow B between a print hammer 31 and a printing paper 36. In the center of the ink ribbon 34 an ink reservoir 39 of the same color is provided as an ink supply means, and if the ink becomes thin, it gradually oozes out therefrom to supplement the ink. In addition, a magnet 38 is provided in the outer periphery of the ink ribbon 34, and together with the magnet 38 a magnetic sensor 37 to detect a revolving angle of the ink ribbon 34 is installed on a carrier 32. If printing commencement order is issued, the control calculates the angles between the existing color the required color and the ribbon is revolved to the required position and the printing starts. |
