The wind-powered device has a vertical axis and in particular a section acting as a deflector for the poles. An even number of supporting arms 2 are mounted on a rotating vertical shaft 1. Streamlined blades 3 at the ends of the arms are formed by a body with a leading edge 6 and pressure and suction faces 4, and a deflector 5. The deflector has the shape of a half circumference with a diameter 8/100 of that of the wind-powered device, and a diameter parallel to the radius of the machine. The device is intended to convert wind power into useful mechanical power with high efficiency. <IMAGE>
