PURPOSE:To obtain a cutoff valve having high reliability by using a ball which is adapted to drop on an operation lever to operate the operation lever on sensing an earthquake. CONSTITUTION:If earthquake occurs, a cutoff valve 20 vibrates largely to drop a ball 92, and the ball is guided from a ball bearing chute 84 to a guide chute 96 to come into collision with one end of one arm 74 of an operation lever 70. The operation lever 70 is turned around a pivotal shaft portion 66, so that an engaging click 72 forces an engaging flange 62 to move. An engaging lever 50 is moved to the left to release the engagement of a head portion 52 with an engaging lever 34. A valve plate 30 is turned by its dead load. The valve plate 30 is firmly seated on a valve seat 36 by pressing force of a fluid to close the cutoff valve 20. |
