PURPOSE:To prevent a leakage of oil from a drain apparatus when earthquake occurs by using an earthquake detecting mechanism for transmitting turning force to a valve plate only when earthquake occurs. CONSTITUTION:When earthquake sensing means 60 detects earthquake, a motion shaft 62 is oscillated forward and backward, and right and left by the movement of a universal joint 68. The forward end 64 of the motion shaft 62 is disconnected from the lower surface of a weight 54, so that the weight 54 drops. Thus, an operation lever 44 is turned around a shaft 48 clockwise to release the engaging state of a ratchet wheel 42 with the operation lever 44. Accordingly, the turning force is transmitted to a valve plate 24 by a weight 32, so that the vavle plate 24 is turned counter-clockwise to close a drain pipe system. |
