PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and efficiently excavate ground while preventing deformation or sluckness of the ground, even if the ground is soft. SOLUTION: A receive base device 9 for reinforcing members which is transferable in the approaching or separating direction of a tunnel wall, is installed at an appropriate position of the rear part of the skin plate 4a of a tunnel excavator and a bag-form sheet is laid on the receive base device for reinforcing members. Thereafter, the receive base device 9 is positioned at a specified location. In this way, the bag-form sheet 10 is kept between the skin plate 4a and the receive base device 9 for reinforcing members. A hardening agent is injected into the bag-form sheet in accordance with the advance of the tunnel excavator to pressurize the tunnel wall face. And the ground is excavated, while filling the cavity A brought at the rear end of the skin plate 4a in sequence by the expansion of the bag-form sheet 10. |
