TORQUE SENSOR AND POWER STEERING APPARATUS USING THE TORQUE SENSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and compact torque sensor and a power steering apparatus which can decrease a temperature dependency and be formed in one body with a rotating angle sensor. SOLUTION: In this torque sensor, shafts 1 and 2 are coupled by a torsion bar 3 to be rotated relatively, and rotatably supported by a cylindrical case 4. A multipolar magnet 5 of a ring shape is concentrically fixed with the shaft 2 at the outer circumference of an end part of the shaft 2. A Hall device 6 is fixed to face the multipolar magnet 5 at the outer circumference of an end part of the shaft 1. A temperature compensation yoke 7 is set at the side of a rear face of the Hall device 6 facing the multipolar magnet 5.
