Improved ozone-based sterilization equipment for telephone sets which comprises, internally or externally to the telephone set (1), an electronic module (4) having a delay control circuit and an electronic converter which transforms the 6 DIVIDED 12 VCC of the supply unit (10) from which extend two pairs of electric leads (6), (1mm in diameter), said leads being isolated for high voltage and being connected to two ceramic sheets (7); the sheets have in both faces two electrodes of selective metals to which the high voltage generated by the electronic module (4) is applied thereby producing an electric low power discharge which decomposes the environmental air in order to produce ozone which sterilizes the zones of the telephone set (1) wherein the earpiece (8) and microphone (9) of the microtelephone (2) can rest when the latter is in a hooked on position; thereby, the ozone discharge is generated automatically upon a telephone line voltage variation detected through the connection (5) of the module (4) to the telephone printed circuit (3), or by manual or electronic actuation.
