PURPOSE:To shorten a liquid-crystal injection time and prevent a defect due to a bubble by forming an injection port in part of one side of a seal material which seals the periphery of the gap between an upper and a lower glass substrate, and providing a bubble reservoir at the other side opposite the injection port. CONSTITUTION:The liquid-crystal display device 20 is put in a vacuum chamber 8, which is evacuated almost to a vacuum. Then, a discharge valve 9 is closed and the injection port 18 of the liquid-crystal display device 20 is dipped in liquid crystal 21. Then, a leak valve 12 is opened to admit inert gas, and the pressure of the chamber inside 11 is returned to the atmospheric pressure. Consequently, liquid crystal is injected into the liquid-crystal display device through the injection port 18. In this case, the liquid crystal is injected up to a position (d) within 1hr by making the volume of the bubble reservoir 19 larger than that of the space part at a position that the liquid-crystal reaches in 1hr. Thus, the liquid-crystal injection time is shortened and a defect due to a bubble is prevented. |
