PURPOSE:To improve the function to control the crown at the transverse ends of a sheet by providing a piston which slides on a roll shaft part and fits into the tapered hollow part at the roll end face and a cylinder which fits to the roll shaft and is supported by a roll bearing to the roll. CONSTITUTION:The hollow part 2 made into a taper ring shape is concentrically drilled to the body end of the work roll 1 and the cylindrical piston 3 is slidably fitted to the shaft part 5. An annular taper wedge 4 is fitted into the hollow part 2. One end of the cylinder 9 fitted to the shaft part 5 is further pressed to and supported by the bearing 6 of a journal box 7 and a spring 10 is interposed between said cylinder and the piston 3. A pressure oil is supplied through oil conduit holes 11, 12 into the hollow parts 2, 8 to draw or push the taper wedge 4 of the piston 3 from or into the part 2. The satisfactory control of the shape at the transverse ends of a rolling sheet is thus made possible. |
