The axial-flow hydraulic turbine installation consists of a duct (1) with a bend (5) in close proximity to the turbine (4), so that the turbine shaft (6) extends through the wall of the duct and is equipped with a dry bearing (8). The duct is equipped with a second bend on the opposite side of the turbine, so that both ends of the shaft are in dry bearings. - The second bend may be in the same direction as the first one, or in a different direction. The shaft passes through glands (7) on the outside of the duct wall which provide a seal and the bearings can be connected to the duct by supports.
