摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make shorter the time required to receive and ship a material such as a long and heavy one by assigning numbers of delivery points for the material to be stored within the moving area of a trolly which conveys the material in receiving and shipping operation so as to enable the trolly to move around horizontally along storing shelves. CONSTITUTION:In a pipe manufacturing plant, an automatic storing warehouse is located between a pipe manufacturing line 2 and subsequent pipe refining lines 3A and 3B. The warehouse carries a conveying device which comprises a receiving table T1, a transfer unit LM, six receiving and shipping trollies ND11- ND32, three stacker cranes SC1-SC3, two shipping tables Ta and Tb, two shipping point trollies Da and Db and others. A space which is closest to the receiving table T1 in the moving area for the stacker cranes SC1-SC3, and two places which fall on two points in the middle where the depth of the automatic warehouse is equally divided by three, are assigned as a steel pipe delivery point used by receiving and shipping trollies ND11, the stacker cranes SC1 and others allowing the steel pipe to be delivered at any place of the above-mentioned as suitablly selected.</p>
