The detection device comprises a permanent magnet arranged opposite a reed-contact breaker 30 within the case 5 of a lock 1. When the lock is correctly closed, the bolt 4 of the lock occupies a position such that a ferromagnetic member 34 integral with it in terms of movement is located between the permanent magnet and the reed-contact breaker 30 and forms a screen for looping the magnetic field of the magnet. The breaker 30, which normally remains closed for the open or incorrectly closed positions of the lock, is thus opened, so as to transmit a signal triggering an acoustic or visual alarm.
