DEVELOPING METHOD OF ELECTROSTATIC LATENT IMAGE

PURPOSE:To obtain a copy which has no staining in the background part and has excellent reproducibility of low density by regulating the AC voltage to be impressed to a developing roll in a relation with the potential in the non-image part of an electrostatic latent image and the potential of a toner layer. CONSTITUTION:The potential in the non-image part of the electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive drum 1 when the voltage to be impressed to a sleeve 6 which is a developer carrying body is changed by an AC voltage source 9 is designated as VL, the DC component of the AC voltage to be impressed to the sleeve 6 as VDC and the potential of the toner layer on the sleeve 6 as VT, when the developing device shown in the figure is used. The copy which has no staining in the background part and has the good reproducibility of low density is obtainable by regulating the DC component VDC in a manner as to attain ¦VL- VDC-VT¦<=20 volt.
