PURPOSE:To improve the use efficiency of reference tape generation by providing plural video heads at intervals of 180 deg. on the outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum and running a magnetic tape helically and applying video signals of the same picture simultaneously to them to form the same magnetized tracks simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:When NTSC signals are adopted as recording video signals, a rotary drum 29a is rotated uniformly in the direction of an arrow 22 with 30Hz, and the feeding speed of a magnetic tape 4 is set to the three-fold value of the normal speed, and a chrominance signal test pattern and a horizontal resolution test pattern are applied to the first video heads 30-32 and the second video heads 33-35, thereby forming magnetized tracks 11, A2, etc. It is possible that the horizontal synchronizing signals of video signals are recorded only during 0-262.5 horizontal periods by the first video heads 30-32 and the rest of the horizontal synchronizing signal is recorded by the second video heads 33-35. Thus, the recording time is shortened when video signals of the same picture are recorded to generate a reference tape, and the use efficiency of a reference tape generating device is improved. |
