PURPOSE:To improve degree of adhesion of a white metal layer and improve reliability and safety forming a white metal layer on a cooled bearing base by arc build up welding, and forming a layer of built up part by smoothing melting. CONSTITUTION:Backside 1a of bearing alloy 1 is cooled by jetting cooling fluid from jetting nozzeles 1. Then, a white metal wire 5 is supplied continuously by a wire supplying device 4 to the surface 1a of the bearing alloy 1, and at the same time, the tip 5a of the white metal wire 5 is molten by an arc 6a of a preceding welding torch 6. A white metal layer 7 is formed by building up while welding it on the surface 1a of the bearing metal 1. The wire metal layer 7 is molten for smoothing by remelting by an arc 8a of succeeding welding torch 8 at a temperature lower than that of the preceding welding torch 6. |
