PURPOSE:To obtain the title element which attains an excellent photoelectric energy conversion efficiency and is excellent in stability by a method wherein a film made of a polyvinylidene series compound containing phthalocyanine in a state of dispersion, made as a photo active layer, is sandwiched by a barrier electrode of lead or cadmium sulfide and an ohmic electrode. CONSTITUTION:A film made of a polyvinylidene series compound 2 containing phthalocyanine 1 in a state of dispersion is made as the photo active layer and sandwiched by the barrier electrode 3 of lead or cadmium sulfide and the ohmic electrode 4. Various kind of known metal or nonmetallic phthalocyanine can be taken as an example of the phthalocyanine, paticularly, X-type nonmetallic phthalocyanine is preferable. For example, a polymer such as vinylidene fluoride, vinylidene chloride, vinylidene cyanide or a copolymer of these with an anther copolymer component can be taken as an example of the polyvinylidene series compound. There is no particular restriction to the mixing rate of nonmetallic phthalocyanine and polyvinylidene series compound and relates with the thickness of the formed film. A weight ratio of 1:4-4:1 is preferable. |
