A tentering machine for the continuous treatment of a fabric web contains two rotating transport members (2) with a plurality of clips (5). At the entry of the tentering machine there is a device (9) for closing the clip wings (7), and at the exit of the tentering machine is a device (10) for opening the clip wings (7). Each of these devices contains a rotating actuating member (13, 19) which is driven in synchronism with the transport members (2) and which moves in the same direction and at the same speed as the clip wings (7). This tentering machine is suitable especially for relatively high transport speeds.
