The cigarette packs (7) are unloaded by using a secondary seat (37) which is set between the conveyor machine (3) and the passage (18) which is mounted at a fixed point on a given section of the conveyor. The secondary seat moves along the path of the conveyor at the same speed and in alignment with each of the seats (8) on the conveyor. A slide (33) set up permanently on the secondary seat (37) is mounted on the other side of the conveyor so that when the secondary seat is moved in alignment with the cigarette pack seat (8) the slide (33) moves through the seat (8) to move the cigarette pack from this seat to the secondary seat.
