<p>PURPOSE:To weld plane plates mutually and positively, and to obtain a material to be welded, flatness thereof is the same as one before welding and which has high accuracy and high quality, by intruding a small projection to the superposing section of the material to be welded while vibrational energy is concentrated to the small projection and correcting strain generated in the surface by the flat end surface of a horn. CONSTITUTION:When the end surface 2 of a horn 1 is positioned vertically to the superposing sections of materials to be welded 4, 5, small projections 3 on the end surface 2 are pressed downward while being given vibrational energy and the small projections 3 are intruded to the upper surface of the material to be welded 4, frictional heat is generated in the materials to be welded 4, 5, and the materials to be welded are melted. The strain 7 of the material to be welded 4 protrudes around the intrusions of the small projections 3, but strain 7 is corrected by the end surface 2 of the horn when the horn 1 is further pressed and the end surface 2 is contact-bonded to the upper surface of the material to be welded 4, and the small projections 3 penetrate the joint surfaces 6 of the materials to be welded 4, 5, thus completely welding both the materials to be welded 4, 5. Clearances formed through an inflow between the materials to be welded 4, 5 of volume corresponding to the small projections 3 at that time can be removed according to the conditions of welding. After welding is completed, the small projections 3 are pulled out.</p> |
